I have always been drawn to wild and often remote places and the dominant theme in my work has been and continues to be the Himalayan mountains first visited in 1979.
I have lived in Hexham for the past five years and the surrounding Northumberland landscape has provided a new source of inspiration. The Whitby Abbey paintings were commissioned by English Heritage as part of an archaeological and structural survey of the monument. The work is actual size and was measured and drawn on location.
